Charger Station Kit

One place where phones sleep.

Not the bedroom. The single most effective change in this whole project, and it costs one extension lead.

  1. 1Pick the spot. Kitchen counter, hallway shelf, by the front door. Somewhere you pass on the way to bed and never on the way from it.
  2. 2One lead, enough plugs. A multi-port charger or an extension lead with a cable per person. Cables stay here. Nobody “borrows” one upstairs.
  3. 3Label it. Print the labels below: one for the station, one per person. A labelled spot is a spot that gets used.
  4. 4Buy an alarm clock. The only real reason a phone ends up by the bed. Ten pounds, no apps. Put it where the phone used to be.
  5. 5Give it two weeks. Use the Bedtime Handover for the first fortnight. After that, the habit does the work.

The Phone Parking bedroom sign goes on the bedside table, where the phone used to be.
